What are the differences between minimal and flat designs?
Minimalist designs are very simple and unique. The conception behind the minimalistic design is to use just enough elements and colours, but not more to strongly and adequately convey your design message. On the other hand, flat design is a minimalistic design approach that highlights usability. It features clean, clear-cut, open space, and bright colours. Flat design uses small icons and illustrations to explain usability instead of using complex design concept. The colours and style of flat design are limited and simple.
